The Coffee Gardens and 275 Ugandan growers deliver a delightful washed coffee that's crisp, elegant and kinda like tea. Find chamomile, Darjeeling, and red berries in our latest seasonal capsule release.

The Ultimate Quick Guide to Capsule Brewer Husbandry:

  • Always purge your machine with a blank shot of water when switching between coffees
  • Give the pod a good shake
  • Let each cap warm up in the machine for 5-10" before starting the brew (this also helps improve the cap's seal)
  • By short we mean 32-35g in beverage weight (the default on your Nespresso® machine's small button should give you this – you may need to reset your machine if you've ever recorded over these settings)
  • Use your caps within 4 weeks/WKS and come back for more.

This run of pods is only available as a 10-unit refill pack.

FAQ:

"Aren't capsules gross?" – yes, when the coffee going in is. And the same can be said for any brew method. Ever made a V60 with some incinerated supermarket beans? That'll set a new bar for gross.

"Will your Heirloom Blend be available in this format?" – try something new, live a little! But also, yes, someday, perhaps, possibly.

"Do you just grind your coffee and stick it in a pod?" – yes, but nope. The roasts sent to 4WKS are specifically roasted to extract well in the fast brew format of a capsule, and no that doesn't mean we roast darker for them. Aside from the work we do, the team at 4WKS rigorously test by refracting shots and calibrating grind settings to achieve taste and strength goals with each batch of coffee we supply. If it isn't hitting the right numbers, we start again.

"Why so expenny?" – not all coffees taste the same, and that's part of why they don't all cost the same. The lot going in to these caps isn't cheap, but truly great coffee never should be.

When will my order ship?

📆 All online orders are typically shipped on Wednesday each week to ensure we get the freshest available stock to you. This means anything ordered by midnight on Tuesday is guaranteed to ship on Wednesday, orders placed after this will ship by the following Wednesday at the latest. In some cases, items may ship sooner if we have fresh stock available.

🗺 Arrival depends on where you're based —within Johannesburg orders will often arrive the day after you receive tracking information, other major centres will usually receive orders 2 days after you get a tracking number in your inbox, outlying areas may take up to 3 days.

💫 We ship free to all of South Africa on orders over R849, for orders below this value a R85 delivery fee will be included at Checkout.

You can also opt for a store pickup at our Kramerville Roastery or Rosebank Cafe, just select this option at Checkout. We'll send you a "ready to collect" notification as soon as your order is, well, ready to collect.

🌍 We offer international shipping on all orders under 2kg (that's safely 6 boxes of coffee) Unfortunately, the South African postal service is infamous for being the total opposite of a vibe so our int'l shipping is handled via Aramex or DHL. This means that int'l shippings fees are a little steep, but you'll get your coffee in record time and will be able to track it all the way to your door.

🛫 To view shipping rates for your country, simply follow the usual process people follow when shopping online (fill a cart, proceed to checkout, and enter your address & contact deets). Easy peasy.

If shipping options do not load, it means we don't currently offer shipping to your country or region. Be sure to mail us so we can fix that.

NB: some import duties may be applicable on arrival depending on your country's policies.
